Michigan Agriculture Environmental Assurance Program (MAEAP)

harvestMAEAP Progressive Planning is a voluntary, non-regulatory program that allows small and medium-sized producers to chart a path toward environmental assurance for their farms.

Educational workshops, field days and individual assistance are all tools used to assist producers in meeting their environmental goals.  Through progressive planning a producer will work with a local MAEAP technical to address some or all of the following:

  • Spreading Plan
  • Conservation Practices on Fields
  • Emergency and Employee Training Plan
  • Mortality and Veterinary Medical Waste Plan
  • Odor Management Plan
  • Whole Farm Nutrient Balance

Completing these steps will put the producer in a good position to complete a Comprehensive Nutrient Management Plan and become a MAEAP Verified Farm.
