Bur oak is an excellent source of food for many wildlife species including deer, turkeys and r-abbits. As these trees reach maturity, they provide roosting and nesting for numerous species of birds. This tree is also used as a medium to tall component in windbreaks. These trees prefer moist, well-drained loam soils, but will adapt to a wide range of soil conditions.
