Michigan Agriculture Environmental Assurance Program (MAEAP):
MAEAP Progressive Planning is a voluntary, non-regulatory program that allows small and medium-sized livestock producers to chart a path toward environmental assurance for their farms.
Educational workshops, field days and individual assistance are all tools used to assist producers in meeting their environmental goals. Through progressive planning a producer will work with a local MAEAP technical to address some or all of the following:
- Spreading Plan
- Conservation Practices on Fields
- Emergency and Employee Training Plan
- Mortality and Veterinary Medical Waste Plan
- Odor Management Plan
- Whole Farm Nutrient Balance
Completing these steps will put the producer in a good position to complete a Comprehensive Nutrient Management Plan and become a MAEAP Verified Farm.
